If you are looking for a trusted physiotherapist in Marylebone or Crouch End, Potentia by Esra offers specialist, consultant-led care grounded in advanced clinical training, research, and a deeply personalised approach. Founded by Esra, a dual Master’s qualified physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience in health and wellness, the clinic is built on expertise, compassion, and a commitment to helping people improve their quality of life through evidence-based physiotherapy.
Our Story
Esra always knew she wanted to work in healthcare. After speaking with physiotherapists and university professors and witnessing the life-changing impact they had on patients, she realised physiotherapy was where she could make the greatest difference, and she committed to doing it exceptionally well.
Pelvic floor health, in particular, stood out to her as an area often overlooked and rarely discussed openly. She recognised that many people live with deeply personal symptoms in silence. That understanding shaped the foundation of Potentia by Esra. The clinic was created to provide a safe, respectful environment where sensitive topics can be discussed openly, without embarrassment or judgment. Her mission is to ensure every individual feels heard, supported, and empowered to live a more comfortable and confident life.
Clinical Expertise & Qualifications
Esra graduated with distinction from the University of Nottingham with a Master’s degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She is fully registered and recognised within the UK healthcare system, reflecting both clinical credibility and specialist training.
Her qualifications and professional credentials include:
Master’s degree in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, University of Nottingham
HCPC registered Physiotherapist
CSP registered member
POGP registered Specialist Pelvic and Women’s Health Practitioner
Additional training in chronic pain management and spinal health
Her academic work includes two dissertations, one focused on female sexual health and the other on chronic back pain. Alongside her studies in the UK, she trained in specialist clinics in Turkey, gaining broad clinical experience across different healthcare settings.
Our Approach to Physiotherapy & Women’s Health
The name Potentia comes from the Latin word meaning potential, power, and capability. It reflects the core belief behind the clinic, that every individual has the capacity to heal, strengthen, and reclaim control over their body when given the right guidance and support. The name Potentia by Esra represents unlocking that potential through expert, personalised physiotherapy care. It is a reminder that recovery is not just about reducing pain, but about restoring confidence, strength, and long-term wellbeing.
Having worked in private hospitals in both London and Turkey, Esra observed that many patients were treated as numbers rather than individuals. This experience fundamentally shaped how she built her clinic.
At Potentia by Esra, care is fully individualised from the very first consultation. Every patient is listened to carefully, and their full story is considered, not just their symptoms. Social life, work demands, hobbies, stress levels, and personal circumstances are all part of understanding why a condition developed.
Esra strongly believes that once someone feels truly heard and understood, half of the treatment has already begun. Before any treatment is delivered, she ensures each patient clearly understands what is happening in their body, why symptoms occur, and how the treatment plan will help. This clarity builds trust and empowers people to take an active role in their recovery.
What Makes Potentia by Esra Different
What sets this clinic apart from other physiotherapy and women’s health providers is the depth of clinical reasoning and commitment to research. Esra has a strong passion for evidence-based practice and continuously studies emerging research and techniques. However, she never applies a method she has not thoroughly examined and understood. Every technique used is carefully selected, clinically justified, and supported by research.
Her approach goes beyond surface-level symptom relief. She explores the root cause of each issue, asking why it developed and what factors contribute to it. This may include posture, biomechanics, lifestyle habits, stress, or previous injuries. The result is a personalised treatment strategy designed for long-term recovery rather than temporary relief.
Many patients share that they have never felt so listened to or understood in a healthcare setting. They often describe finally understanding their bodies and feeling confident in the plan ahead before treatment even begins.
Patient Success & Trust
One patient shared in a recent review that after struggling with persistent pelvic pain for years and seeing multiple practitioners, they finally felt properly assessed and understood. They described the consultation as thorough, reassuring, and informative, explaining that for the first time, they were given a clear explanation of their symptoms and a structured recovery plan. Their pain reduced significantly with treatment, but what stood out most was the feeling of being genuinely listened to and supported throughout the process.
These experiences reflect the clinic’s commitment to personalised, respectful, and high-quality care.
